This course shows the basics of First Aid and the current emergency procedures, including Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), with first aid for the unconscious, wounded and bleeding casualty.

This also qualifies the student in the HSE Approved Emergency First Aid at Work. Course goes further and relates to the outdoor environment covering such subjects as strains, sprains and fractures. Recognition and treatment of shock. Treatment of choking. Recognition and treatment of common injuries and conditions such as hypothermia. Contents of First Aid kits. Casualty evacuation techniques to use or not to use.

We relate to the student whether it is for sports injuries, hill walking, mountain biking, forestry etc.

There is continual ongoing assessment throughout the 2 days.
