This course is designed with parents, nursery workers, and child minding personnel in mind.

By the end of the course the student will have knowledge and practical first aid skills relating to children.

Objectives:-

Cause, recognition and treatment of

• Child and baby resuscitation
• Care of an unconscious child and baby
• Control of severe bleeding
• Treatment of the shock condition
• Child conditions – Meningitis, Infantile convulsions, Croup, Foreign bodies, Dog bites, Anaphylaxis, Diarrhoea, Head Injuries, etc

Simulation scenarios, video films, quizzes, etc.

Core subjects covered during the course, incorporate all the H.S.E. Approved procedures for qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW).
