Automated External Defibrillator Training (AED) in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh & Glasgow


This course is for the experienced First Aider, usually having a valid First Aid certificate. Their C.P.R. skills should be of an acceptable standard. This course would be recommended if the student also requires a C.P.R. Update. The course syllabus for the day includes:

  • Basic life support using DRABCD
  • Rescue breaths and CPR techniques
  • Anatomy and physiology of the heart
  • Altered physiology of the heart
  • Chain of survival
  • Role of the AED in basic life support
  • Physiology of defibrillation
  • Factors affecting defibrillation
  • Defibrillation safety
  • Maintenance of the defibrillator.

Practical scenarios are used. Questionnaire tick test. Courses are held on request.
